Seniors Softball: Hawaii’s Gold Coast advanced to the semifinals of the Senior Girls Softball Western Regionals in Missoula, Montana on Monday with a 6-3 victory over Oregon (Oregon-California Little League).

Taking a 2-1 lead in the first inning, Gold Coast saw its lead disappear in the third inning but scored two runs in the fourth inning and two in the sixth while exploding offensively for 12 hits.

Leadoff hitter Shaylee Alani was a spark on offense, going 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. She reached base four times, while also having the only multi-base hits for her team with a double and a home run.

Teizha Kaluna went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Kiera Javillonar and Kaimana-Joy Manzano also had two hits and knocked in a run apiece.

Taylor Tabucbuc started inside the circle, picking up the win in six innings of work. She allowed two earned, three total, off five hits, while striking out eight and walking four. Alani picked up the save, throwing the seventh and striking out two.

Gold Coast will play in their semifinal game today starting at 1:30 p.m. If they win, they will play in the championship game at 6 p.m.

Majors Softball: Gold Coast ended pool play at the Little League Softball West Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, California on Monday with a 7-3 loss to Southern California (Burbank Little League).

The Hawaii squad was plagued by errors, committing six over six innings.

Mia Augustin took the complete game loss, allowing only two earned runs off five hits, while striking out one and walking five.

Gold Coast managed six hits, which were spread out to six different batters. Nanea Kalua’u, Telsea Taketa and Naomi Spencer scored the three runs.
