Trump just doesn’t cut it

I fail to understand why seemingly intelligent and educated people continue to support Donald Trump. I have some understanding of why frustrated workers are looking for a quick solution to a reduced job market resulting from the demise of the coal, steel and other industries as well as massive technological changes affecting economies around the world.

That said, I do not understand why those who have been relatively unaffected by those factors continue to support him. Donald Trump is a person who respects no one and could care less about the well-being of working class and middle class citizens, or anyone for that matter. He cares only about himself. He demeans the handicapped, the poor, the immigrant, those of other races, and other religions.

He is a tax evader and draft dodger, and has the gall to make fun of those responsible and honest citizens who pay taxes and serve their country. In addition to knowing little or nothing about national and international issues, or how the government works, Donald Trump is a braggart, a racist, a misogynist, a congenital liar and hate-monger.

As a retired military person and a Vietnam War veteran, I particularly resent this draft-dodging coward mocking former POWs like John McCain, and Gold Star families, like those of Capt. Kahn, who died in combat in Iraq. Trump hasn’t the foggiest notion of what bravery and sacrifice are all about.

I most sincerely hope that by Nov. 8, voters in America will be fully aware of all that this frightening ogre has done, or in which he has been involved, over the years and will cast their votes accordingly.
