Salsa dance lessons offered in Waimea

The Waimea Ballroom Dance Club will offer salsa lessons starting Monday at the Kahilu Town Hall.

This is the last 6-week set of dance lessons the club will offer this year. No partner necessary. Cost is $20 for members. For nonmembers, cost is $5 per class. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be on the first two weeks only. Lesson from 7-8 p.m. followed by 30-minute practice mixer. Lance Oliver is the instructor.

Libraries closed on Election Day, Veterans Day

All public libraries will be closed on Election Day Tuesday and on Veterans Day Nov. 11.

American Legion meeting coming up

The American Legion Kona Post 20 and American Legion Auxiliary will meet Wednesday at the Kona Elks Lodge, 74-5596 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona.

Fellowship and cocktails will start at 3:30 p.m. and meeting begins at 4. Dinner will be served after the meeting.

Members who want to have dinner should call Post Commander Dave Carlson at 325-6491 or Vice Commander Antonio Gaspar at 345-5478 for reservations.

Brain Injury Support group meets

The Brain Injury Support group meets from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Hawaiian Rehab Services mauka of the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union on Hualalai Road.

At times, after a catastrophic accident or chronic illness, people can be faced with overwhelming bills. Dan Turner, who has over 33 years of estate financial planning and money management experience, will discuss strategies to help with cash flow solutions.

Kailua-Kona Seniors host treasure sale

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will host a treasure sale from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Hale Halawai.

The event is a fundraiser for the Kailua-Kona Seniors. Sale items include household goods, books, puzzles, decorations and plants. Baked items, homemade jams and crafts will also be available. Donations for the sale may be dropped off at 8 a.m. that day. Clothing will not be accepted.

The group will not meet that week.
