Gabriel Pajimola

Gabriel “Gabe” Pajimola, 76, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 5, 2016, at his residence. Born Sept. 11, 1940, in Honohina, he was a retired driver for Avis Budget car rentals, a former tire specialist for Kailua-Kona Chevron and a fisherman.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at his home, 73-1118 Hamanamana St. in Kona Highlands and a service is planned at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Condolences may be sent to the family at the Hamanamana Street address. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

He is survived by wife, Terri Pajimola of Kailua-Kona; sons, Alvin (Shelley) Pajimola of Deer Park, Wash., Brian (Scott Masters) Pajimola of Kailua-Kona, Dion Pajimola of Spokane Valley, Wash., Tim (Kristin) Pajimola of Waikoloa; daughters, Lorrie Mae (Laau) Tuata, Dawn (Lisa) Pajimola Kupihe, Dina Wilson, all of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Maximo Cadabona, Larry (Virgie) Cadabona, all of California, Rocky Cadabona of Mountain View, Rudy (Grace) Pajimola of Pepeekeo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Catherine Evans

Catherine Giacometti Evans, 83, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 26, 2016, at home. Born Sept. 13, 1933, in Hilo, she was a teacher, author, pastry chef and culinary historian. She was past president of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at her residence at 78-131 Ehukai St. in Kailua-Kona for a celebration of life and scattering of her ashes at Keauhou Bay. Loose flowers are welcome.

She is survived by sons, Stephen (Eiko Ozeki) Evans of Japan, Michael Evans and Peter (Lisa) Evans, of Kailua-Kona; brother, Guido (Susan) Giacometti of Kamuela; two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
