Korean War Veterans Association meets

The Korean War Veterans Association of West Hawaii Chapter 279 meets at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Kona Vet Center located, 73-4876 Kamanu St., Suite 207 in the Kaloko Industrial area. There is an elevator for those who need one.

Membership is open to any person who has seen honorable service the Armed Forces within Korea, including territorial waters and airspace, from Sept. 3, 1945, to the present, or if service was outside of Korea June 25, 1950, to Jan. 31, 1955. Associate members are also welcome.

Free Hawaiian music concert at library

The Kailua-Kona Public Library will host a live concert by Solomon Choo and Chet Gardiner with traditional Hawaiian music for all ages. The free program is planned from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Info: 327-4327.

Armature Radio Society plans annual meeting

The Kona Amateur Radio Society will hold its annual meeting from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the south end of Wawaloli Beach Park at NELHA.

All members, friends and those interested in amateur radio are invited. A holiday themed potluck picnic will take place during the meeting and attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share. The meeting shall include the election of KARS officers and directors with nominations taken from the floor.

Dances of Universal Peace planned

Dances of Universal Peace will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at New Thought Center in Kealakekua.

Attendees will move in the moment while singing sacred phrases and poetry of many spiritual traditions. The meaning and the movements of each dance will be taught. The event is free.
