KONA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT — Live fire training continues today at Kona International Airport.

The training will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The exercise is an annual requirement by the Federal Aviation Administration. The Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting section will be testing its response protocol to a live emergency scenario involving burning fuel. The exercise will produce smoke in the area.
