Yolanda Iyeke

Yolanda Vez “Mama” Iyeke, 64, of Pahoa died April 5, 2017, at her residence. Born July 28, 1952, in the Philippines, she was a cook for the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.

Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. April 17 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo with a 4 p.m. service. Casual attire. Cremation at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.

She is survived by husband, Francis Odigie Iyeke of Pahoa; sons, Joseph (Kelly Ann) Iyeke of Virginia and Lucky Iyeke of Maryland; daughter, Aimeho Iyeke of Pahoa; brothers, Ireneo Ellorin, Santiago Ellorin Jr. and Angelito Ellorin of Philippines; sisters, Concepcion Tolentino, Evangeline Ellorin, Marilyn Ellorin Crisostomo, Lilibeth Manzano and Susana Tandoc, all from the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Emily Hill

Emily Margaret Hill, 48, of Holualoa died April 10, 2017, at her residence. Born July 19, 1968, in New York City, she was a business owner.

Private service.

She is survived by husband, Chris Hill; sons, Harry Hill, Tomoe Hill; daughter, Mika Hill, all of Holualoa; mother, Keiko Banks; sister, Cindy Morrow both of California.

Nancy Chu

Nancy Zung Fung Chu, 87, of Hilo died Feb. 24, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Jan. 17, 1930, in Shanghai, China, she was a former restaurant manager.

Private services held. No flowers. No monetary offerings.

She is survived by husband, William Chu of Honolulu; daughter, Yvonne (Spencer) Oliver of Hilo; sons, Peter (Andrea) Chu of San Diego, Calif., Barry Chu of Waikoloa; brothers, Robert (Judy) Chang of Honolulu and Luke (Alice) Chang of San Francisco; sisters, Anita Ni of Hamburg, Germany, Mimi Fan of Honolulu and Pansy (Wayne) Wilson of San Diego; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Koji Shintani

Koji Shintani, 83, of Hilo died March 26, 2017, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born June 2, 1933, in Hilo, he was the owner of Koji’s Bento Korner and a member of the Hilo Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Private services were held.

He is survived by daughters, Karen Murakami, Sandra Wilson and Robyn (Bruce) Oda; son, Drew Shintani; brother, Futoshi Shintani; sister, Eko Hasegawa; two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
