Remegia Cacatian

Remegia Cabalar Cacatian, also known as “Remy” or “Manang Remy,” 67, of Kurtistown, died April 25, 2017, in Hilo. Born on March 1, 1950, in Codoog, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, she was a sister last belonging to the Hilo Iloko Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 26, 2017, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 6 p.m. service.

She is survived by husband, Victor Canosa Cacatian; children, Emil Cacatian, Junelle (Alex) Kruse, Jordan Cacatian, Jo’Anneli Cacatian; grandson, Diamond Rae Cacatian-Ocon; siblings, Estrella (Elmer) Acasio, Mario (Madeline) Cabalar, Trina (Patrick) Lucas, Terry (Keri) Cabalar, Samuel (Lilahnee) Cabalar; uncle, Fredoline (Lita) Cera; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rudolph Hart

Rudolph “Rudy” Clarence Hart, 84, of Honokaa, died May 14, 2017, at the Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired Emergency Medical Technician-Ambulance Service Supervisor at the former Honokaa Hospital, member and former Pastoral Council President at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, former Scoutmaster and District Scout Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, American Legion Post #16 and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. May 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa; funeral mass at 10. Burial to follow at the Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Kazue Hart of Honokaa; son, Harold (Pearla) Hart of Honokaa; sister, Helen (Gary) Aganus of Papaaloa; sister-in-law, Caroline Hart of Honokaa; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Tsuruko Daimaru

Tsuruko Daimaru, 91, of Hilo died April 27, 2017, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired cashier for KTA Super Stores and a member of the Taishoji Soto Mission and Piihonua Kumiai.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no monetary gifts.

She is survived by sons, Wayne (Lynne) Daimaru of Kailua-Kona, Owen Daimaru of Hilo, Glenn (Gayle) Daimaru of Hilo; daughter, Pearl (J.E. Orozco) Daimaru of Hilo; brother, Herbert (Setsuko) Arai of Honolulu; sister, Evelyn Inouye of Hilo; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
