Carole Matsuno

Carole Keiko Matsuno, 56, of Waimea died April 12, 2017, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Dec. 26, 1960, in Los Angeles, she was a registered dental hygienist, a Realtor and a Navy veteran.

Private service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by parents, Hide and Aiko Matsuno; sisters, Diane Suzuki, Renee Matsuno all of California; brother, Ronald Matsuno of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Velvet Tobias

Velvet Lyn Tobias, 54, of Kailua-Kona died May 15, 2017, at Queens Hospital West Oahu. She was born Oct. 13, 1962, in Fayetteville, N.C.

Call 313-1201 to RSVP for memorial services that will be held at 10 a.m. June 17 at Old Kona Airport Park. The family requests casual attire. A celebration of her life will immediately follow. Ashes will be spread privately at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Clyde Tobias; sisters, Melody Beyma, Crystal (Gene) Fukumitsu; brother, Stanley (Charli) Beyma; daughters, Ashley Greene-Tobias, Michelle (Aaron) Omerod; son, Joshua (Anela) Tobias; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard Cohen

Richard Wayne Cohen, 61, of Waimea died May 17, 2017, in Honolulu. Born Dec. 3, 1955, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he worked as a senior software engineer at the Keck Observatory.

He is survived by son, Lucas Cohen of Waimea; daughter, Emily Cohen of Tacoma, Wash.; mother, Barbara Cohen of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Caryn Cohen of Hyattsville, Md.
