Mamalahoa Highway improvement underway in Waimea
Mamalahoa Highway entering Waimea from the south side has been prepped to begin shoulder paving. It will begin across the street just after the Lualai subdivision entrance and concludes at the end of Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. Construction is scheduled to begin Thursday, dependant on weather and materials. One lane may be closed but travel will be provided in both directions with traffic control, according to County Office of Public Works. Drivers are advised to travel with caution amid the heavy machinery.
