Energetic Awareness: Grounding and Opening through the Chakra System will gather from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 7 with Kauakea Winston. Energy Healing is a broad term referring to the invisible subtle currents of life. During this workshop, participants will learn how to have a direct connection to their own subtle energy body through the chakra system. Author Anodea Judith says, “The body is the vehicle, consciousness the driver. Yoga is the path and the chakras are the map.” The group will explore this map together to learn how to assess chakra health and enhance the flow of energy through sound healing techniques.

Fibromyalgia Help will be from 10-11 a.m. Aug. 9 with Carol Buck, a patient and personal researcher. If you need help solving the many unusual problems that come with fibromyalgia, come talk story with Carol. Discover more about the condition to work more effectively with a physician.

Parkinson’s and Neuroplasticity Wellness Circle of Support will meet from 1—2:30 p.m. on Aug. 9. Individuals with Parkinson’s and other neurological challenges, along with their partners or caregivers, are encouraged to attend this support group/talk story. The discussion focuses on personal experiences, community and PD-related topics including current research. This group welcomes new and visiting participants and medical professionals.

Breast Feeding Support Group will gather from 9:30-11 a.m. on Aug. 10, facilitated by Aimée Watkins. Breastfeeding and expectant mothers are encouraged to attend this monthly meet-up for mother-to-mother support. Meetings are topical discussion format and keiki-friendly. The group intention is to support education and experience to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of babies, moms and families.

Safe Waimea — Peer Support Group will meet from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 11. “You Are Not Alone” is a compassionate space for survivors of all genders and ages around the community issue of sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. The goal of these meetings is to provide a safe place to talk, listen, or just breathe. No RSVP required. If no attendees have arrived by 6:30 p.m., SAFE Waimea volunteers will leave. This group meets on the second Friday of each month.
