Earl Leite
Earl “Suuwella” Anthony Leite, 85, of Keaau formally of Kapa’ahu, died Aug. 21, 2017, at home. Born July 25, 1932, in Hilo, he was a general laborer and fisherman. He was also an Honorary member of Koa Puna Motorcycle Club.
Celebration of life will be noon Sept. 24 at Aja Veterans Hall, 361 Haihai Street, Hilo.
He is survived by daughters, Ane (Aaron Yamauchi) Alicuben of Keaau, Earlene Watan of Captain Cook and Earlanne (Brian Pa) Leite-Leslie of Hilo; brother, Wendell Leite of Hilo; sisters, June “Lani” (Francis) Lum of Kailua, Oahu and Patsy Cardus of Oahu; two sisters-in-law, goddaughter; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walter Pacheco, Sr.
Walter Paul Pacheco, Sr., 79, of Hilo, died Aug. 31, 2017 at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired radio announcer and recreation director for the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of Hawaii.
Friends may call 5–6 p.m. Sept. 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; for a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again 9–10 a.m. Sept. 25 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; for a 10 a.m. funeral service. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.
He is survived by sons, Walter Pacheco, Jr. of Hilo, Lawrence Pacheco of New Mexico, Jaime Pacheco of Hilo; daughters, Lisa (Simon) Simmons of Hilo, Marci Arizumi of Hilo, Roberta Trevino of Arizona; hanai daughter, Stephanie (Reginald, Sr.) Atiz of Papaikou; brothers, Abraham (Terry) Pacheco of Honolulu, Patrick Leroy (Lorraine) Pacheco of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Maxie Navas
Mr. Maxie Dell Kukunaokala Navas, 66, of Kahaluu Mauka, died July 18, 2017, at Maui Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 20, 1950, in Honolulu, he was operations manager and musician for Captain Bean’s Cruises, a driver for 24 Hr. Trouble Call towing, and a ranch hand for Puuwaawaa Ranch.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sept. 29, 2017, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau, mass at 3 p .m. A reception will follow at the Honaunau Rodeo Arena in Honaunau.
He is survived by his wife, Pixie Navas of Kahaluu, Mauka; sons, Maxie (Jeannette) Navas, Jr., of Waipahu, Oahu, and Akoni Navas of Kealakekua; daughters, Kathy (Carl) Ciriako of Kailua-Kona, Mona Navas of Ocean View, and Mary Navas of Kahaluu Mauka; hanai daughter, Dallas Olivera of Kona; brothers, Joseph Navas of Kauai, Edward (Barbara) Navas of Honaunau; sisters, Momi Rapoza of Hilo, Sheila Fresco of Kealakekua, Gail Nitullama of Oahu, Annie (John) Araki of Napoopoo, and Wilma Puna, of Oahu; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe Prickett
Joe Gregory Prickett, 70, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 3, 2017, at his residence. Born Jan. 22, 1947, in Springfield, Mo., he was a professional golfer, computer salesman and an outdoorsman.
Private service to be held.
He is survived by numerous friends.

Toshiko Tomiyoshi
Toshiko Hamada Tomiyoshi, 94, of Hilo, died Sept. 5, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honohina, she was a homemaker.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by daughters, Carol (Stanley N.) Sasaki of Mililani, Oahu, Ellen (Matthew) Matoi of Honolulu; son, Bryan (Mona Eskaran) Tomiyoshi of Hilo; sisters, Yuriko Yamasato of Papaikou, Matsumi Goodell of California; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
