A group of veterans took to Kona waters Friday with the Veterans Fishing Foundation, came back with a catch and some great fishing tales.

Vietnam vet Don Deas was fighting a monster that got away.

It was combat veteran Carl Scarborough’s birthday. He hauled in a 260-pound marlin on the Sea Hawk.

Quite a birthday present.
