The closure is necessary for the intersection’s reconstruction as part of the second phase of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway widening in North Kona, said contractor Goodfellow Bros.

Motorists, bikers and pedestrians using the intersection will be detoured around the area.

Those headed southbound and wanting to access Hina Lani Street will have to continue on the highway and turn left at Kealakehe Parkway to access Ane Keohokalole Highway and take the roadway north to its terminus at Hina Lani Street.
