KAILUA-KONA — Continuing to make the search easier for serious job seekers, West Hawaii Today, in partnership with the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and Kona Commons, is hosting the Big Island’s second annual Career Expo from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Employers and employer resource organizations will be inside the old Sports Authority building with the objective of finding talented individuals who may potentially join their team after a day of face-to-face networking.

It’s recommended that those attending wear business attire and plan to visit each booth to learn what kind of job positions are currently available.

The second rendition of the Career Expo comes after a successful inaugural launch last year. It’ll provide a great resource for those who are currently employed but may be seeking a career change.

Last year’s event featured more than 50 vendors, just as today’s event will. There are also opportunities for advancement as the expo is also meant for the currently employed, which many are.

Hawaii’s unemployment rate dropped to a two-decade low of only 2.1 percent in March. But part of the purpose is to show the workforce what else is out there and give people ideas to plan for the next steps in their career.

Admission is free, with a special thanks to Hertz Hawaii.
