Kona pool staff great

I would like to say, first of all, thank you for our beautiful public pool. All the lifeguards are fantastic. They keep the pool clean, safe and are very friendly. They are professional when circumstances are presented to them that are trying issues.

I have learned to swim there and I’m still taking lessons and love being there because the staff has lots of aloha.

Vog looks like it’s killing birds

I feed the wild birds every morning and evening. Since the eruption began and Kona became blanketed in thick vog, I have noticed that nearly every morning after a red alert day I have found a dead dove under my bird feeder.

Not a mark on them, not victims of some predator, just dead. They used to use canaries to test the air in coal mines because birds are sensitive to dangerous fumes. I wonder if the air quality in Kona is any concern to the powers that be.

Has there been any testing to determine how dangerous it is to people exposed to it daily? And if the results are negative, will they be released? I know it would be bad for tourism, but what about the health effects on the local people?

Trump decision Bible approved

In the Bible, it says if you are for Israel, God will bless you. If you are against Israel, God will curse you.

President Trump is for Israel. Amen and amen.

Kona needs new hospital

Why is there rarely any talk about a new hospital for Kona?

Certainly there is a need for one, and it seems that Kona’s huge tax base should be able to support a state-of-the-art hospital. Placing it near the college would improve medical training and give ready access to the airport when needed. A new hospital would attract nurses and doctors as well as patients.

Kona deserves a new hospital. Let’s talk about it. Any politicians listening?
