HONOLULU — Law enforcement agencies that offered rewards for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of killing a Hawaii Police officer haven’t made decisions about who will receive more than $30,000.
The FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives pledged $10,000 each during the manhunt for Justin Waiki.
He allegedly shot and killed Officer Bronson Kaliloa during a traffic stop on the Big Island last week. Waiki was killed during a shootout with police on Friday after an intense search for him across the vast island.
The agencies said Tuesday no decisions have been made about the rewards.
An FBI spokesman declined to provide more information about how many people are being considered for reward and how many claimants there are.
