Bronson Kaimana Wei Mun Kaliloa, 46, of Keaau, died in the line of duty on July 17, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 26, 1972, in Colorado, he was a police officer.

Ernest “Sonny” Abaya, 79, of Ewa Beach, died July 3, 2018, in Kapolei. He was born in Hilo, and retired as a supervisor for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Wastewater Management, and was an avid fisherman.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 4 at Mililani Memorial Park’s Makai Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m.. Inurnment will be 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Casual, UH, or sports attire. No flowers, please.
He was pre-deceased by daughter, Darlene Merritt.
He is survived by sons, Ernest (Barbara) Abaya, Jonathan Flores, Jace Flores; brothers, Nemecio “Jr” (Anne) Abaya, Daniel (Kathy) Abaya; sisters, Dixie “Linda” Kingsolver, Myra (Bill) Louia, Mary Abaya; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Wayne Kimoto
Wayne Mitsuo Kimoto, of Keakakekua, died July 9, 2018. Born July 9, 1950, in Kealakekua, he worked for the Department of Human Services for the State of Hawaii.

Dennis Lang
Dennis Lang, 70, of Kailua-Kona, died June 23, 2018, at a Seattle hospital. Born in 1947 in Newark, Ohio, he was a registered nurse, a nurse practitioner, a public health manager, and founder and professor of the Disability Studies Program at the University of Washington. During the five years of his semi-retirement in Hawaii, he continued his work on disability rights and accessibility issues at the local level.

Dennis is survived by wife, Sherry Riddick of Kailua-Kona; daughters Anjali (Garth Reeves) Riddick of Seattle, Nina (Justus Kovac) Lang of Bellingham, Wash.; son Micah (Sharmin Gani) Lang of Vancouver, British Columbia; five grandchildren, two sisters, one brother, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Myrna Arakaki
Myrna “Penny” Arakaki, 75, of Pahoa, died on June 20, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu and was a homemaker.
Friends may call 3-4 p.m. July 28 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4 p.m. funeral service, followed by cremation. Casual attire.
