‘Digging in’ school garden workshop offered Sept. 1

School classroom and garden teachers are encouraged to attend “Digging in: Starting the year in your school learning garden,” led by facilitators Amanda Rieux and Wendy Baker from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept.1 at Malaai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School.

Participants will learn how to establish garden protocol and routines, set up key garden systems with tools and compost, plan for schedules and curriculum integration. Presented by Malaai and The Kohala Center, the workshop will teach best practices for various school garden environments and grade levels.
