Health Care Advocacy Series with Annette Pang and Christina Iokia is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. every Wednesday. Through this series, participants can learn and practice how to help family members and friends before a health crisis arises. Attendees can join the group in person or online. Parkinson’s and Neuroplasticity Wellness Support will meet from 1-3 p.m. this Wednesday. People with PD and other neurological challenges, their care partners and others wanting to be part of a local Parkinson’s community support network are encouraged to attend these monthly gatherings. The discussion focuses on personal experiences, community and PD related topics, including current research. Attendance by regular and new members is encouraged.

Family Science Night at Earl’s Garage hosted by Chezlani Casar will be from 5:30-7 p.m. this Friday. Family members are guided in an opportunity to work together and spend time exploring hands-on activities. Everything is provided, including food and supplies. In Search of PIKO: A Path Forward for Mauna Kea will be presented by Gregory Chun, Ph.D. from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 21. The Mauna Kea controversy is complex and deep rooted, the solutions for which are a journey and not a destination. In this presentation, Dr. Chun will explore the many facets of the controversy and what’s required to find common ground.

AARP Smart Driver Course with Susan Yandall, a volunteer educator, will be from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sept. 22. This classroom refresher course is for drivers 50 years or older. Learn strategies to keep safe on the road. Course completion renders potential eligibility for a car insurance discount. Consult your agent for details. Registration is required by today. Wheel of Life Workshop with Laura Reid, MEd and a certified life coach, is scheduled from 2-3:30 p.m. Sept. 23. If your life were a wheel, how bumpy would the ride be? These days, balance is more important than ever but finding it can be challenging. In this interactive workshop be guided through the process of completing a “wheel of life.” Each participant will leave with one clear action to take and begin to map out a path towards a more balanced life with more clarity and happiness.
