The monthly “Yoga for a Cause” event will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Waimea Yoga to benefit Keiki Yoga Kohala, a yoga education and healthy lifestyles program now celebrating its 12th year at Kohala Elementary School. The program provides 30-minute yoga sessions in the classroom that combine a science-based exploration of the body, mind and self with the exercise system of yoga to support social emotional learning, wellness and personal responsibility.

“Yoga for a Cause” benefits various local North Hawaii nonprofit organizations the third Friday of each month. Representatives share information about their organization before and after the all-level yoga class that begin at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments and informal talk story follow the class.

Participation is donation based, with a suggested donation of $20. Classes are open to all and preregistration is not necessary.
