Shirley Kealoha

Shirley Ann Kealoha, 83, of Honokaa, died Sept. 13, 2018, at home. Born on Sept. 12, 1935, in Kula, she was a housewife; a volunteer for the retired and senior volunteer program and nutrition program; and a chair of the Honokaa Western Week Saloon Contest and Honokaa Taro Festival.

Visitation will be held from 8-9:45 a.m. Oct. 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Memorial Mass begins at 10 a.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughters, Georgiann (Harry) Kealoha-Jose of Honokaa, Corinne Kealoha of Honokaa and Jan (Harvey) Kealoha-Nakano of Hilo; son, George Kealoha, Jr. of Kona; sisters, Rosaline Victorino of Hilo and Amy Butler of Texas; brother, Lawrence (Pat) Fernandez of Makawao, Maui; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alexander Aquino, Sr.

Alexander Robert Aquino, Sr., 71, of Captain Cook, died Sept. 22, 2018, at his residence. Born May 13, 1947, in Honolulu, he was a self-employed auto mechanic, building contractor, plumber, fisherman, demolition technician, carpenter, painter, auto body builder, auto detailer, landscaper, fishing net maker, lauhala weaver, tailor and mechanic for the former Ka’u Sugar Plantation.

He is survived by wife, Annette Kunewa Aquino of Captain Cook; son, Alexander (Amy) Aquino, Jr. of Napoopoo; daughters, Suzette (Don) Graycochea of Kahuku, Oahu, Lonnetta (Tammie) Aquino of Capt. Cook; brothers, Vincent Aquino, Sr. and Stanley (Patricia) Aquino, Sr. of Honolulu, John Aquino, Sr. of Kauai; sisters, Ethelwyne (Rodney) Nahina of Hilo, Louise Galla and Minerva Mayhan of Tucson, Ariz.; hanai parents, George (Patsy) Iranon of Honolulu; nine grandsons, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fernando Garcia

Fernando Horace Garcia, 63 of Mountain View, died Sept. 15, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 7, 1955, in Honolulu and was a musician/entertainer with New Hope Christian Fellowship Kupulau, Glad Tidings, Kingdom Culture, Word of God and various establishments.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 13 at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 840 Kupulau Road in Hilo. Service to follow. Family request no flowers.

Fernando is survived by wife, Corinne Ann Garcia of Mountain View; son Fernando H. (Jessica) Garcia, Jr. of Hilo; daughter Alicia L. (Dennis) Kamehaiku of Hilo; brothers, Albert (Sara) Garcia of Honolulu, Robert (Aileen) Garcia of Honolulu, Anthony Dominguez of Honolulu; sister, Marina (Richard Ching) Dominguez of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donald Quaintance

Donald Charles Quaintance Jr., 75, of Kona, died Sept. 12, 2018, at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Oct. 22, 1942, in Hilo to Donald Charles and the Evelyn (Horne) Quaintance, he served in the U.S. Navy and was a corporate attorney for Hewlett-Packard.

He is survived by his daughter Courtney; his sons, Donald (Jean) and Christopher (Aisha); sister Barbara; brother Edward; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews; former wife Cecele Quaintance; and former companion of many years, Gray Gilfillan.
