On Nov. 10, Friends of the Library-Waikoloa Region (FL-WR) will present the 9th Annual Run/Walk for Literacy. The race will kick off at Waikoloa School at 7:30 a.m. The cost to participate ranges from $10 to $30 per person.

The popular event awards medals in numerous categories and age groups, giving families a fun way to enjoy some exercise together. Strollers are welcome.

After the race, a Health Fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the school cafeteria, featuring interactive displays and information booths, live demonstrations and free health screenings, among others. Concurrently, from 7:30 to 11 a.m., a silent auction will offer dozens of treasures and adventures for bargain-hunting bidders. A highlight of the day will be a drawing for a handmade quilt, donated by the Waikoloa Sew ‘n’ Sews.
