“New Buildings Under Way”

Ground is broken for the new $2.5 million Casa de Emdeko condominium project. Located on 4 acres on the makai side of Alii Drive, the 106-unit condominium complex is being constructed by Emdeko Development of Hawaii Inc. The one- and two-bedroom units will range in price from $37,000 to $75,000.

Ground was also blessed and broken for the Waimea Village Inn, a 40-unit, $1.3 million hotel in Waimea. It is slated to open in September 1969. The 40 units will include 10 apartment-type units and 30 hotel rooms. Ten of the 30 hotel rooms are adjacent to apartment units and can be joined to provide 10 two-bedroom apartments. The inn will also include space for shops and a restaurant.

“White Sands Beach Estates Now Under Development”

A choice segment of Kona land adjacent to White Sands Beach has been master planned and is currently under development for home sites.

The developers, Aloha-Newport Land Company, named the project White Sands Beach Estates. Buyers now have the opportunity to either purchase a single lot or a lot with a house planned by the group’s master planner, Black, Paliuso, Sata and O’Dowd.

“License Plates On Sale”

Reservations for the new 1969 automobile license plates are being accepted at the county Treasure’s Office. The new plates are reflectorized with a yellow background and black lettering. The plates replace the 7-year-old green and white plates.
