Debra Lyn Fero, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 27, 2018. Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, she enjoyed creating with her hands, especially painting.
A celebration of life was held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on Jan. 12; a celebration of life in Fairbanks will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Debbie would have appreciated a donation to Turtle Beach in Hawaii.
Survived by father, David A. Fero Sr. of Anchorage, Alaska; mother, Mary Ann Giboney of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Sandra M. Fero and partner James Blue or North Pole, Alaska; brother, David A. Rachael Hanohano
Rachael Hoolana Hanohano, 83, of Hilo, died Dec. 1 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Hilo and was a retired clerk/typist with the former Hilo Hospital and a member of the Island Praise Ministry.
Visitation 9-11 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m., followed by cremation. Casual attire, no flowers.

Fumio Hamakawa
Fumio Hamakawa, 93, of Hilo, died Nov. 28, 2018, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. He was born in Hilo and was a small business owner specializing in heavy duty equipment and parts and was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Visitation 4-5 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Private urn committal at a later date. Aloha attire, in lieu of koden (monetary donations) to the family, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America—Aloha Council, Pukahi District or the Hawaii Island United Way.

Edward Rose
Edward “Brother Ed” Rose, Jr., 84, of Keaau, and formerly of Honolulu, died Dec. 24, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Waipio Valley, and was a retired truck driver with the former Pacific Cement and Hawaiian Cement Co., a member of the Living Waters Assembly of God Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Visitation 4-5 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 19) at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 22) at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Columbarium for an urn committal service. Casual attire.

Lydia Tinaza Baclig, 50, of Pepeekeo, died Dec. 30, 2018 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 8, 1968, in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she worked at Hilo Seaside Hotel.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Jan. 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. wake. All-night vigil follows at the family residence. Friends may again call at 8 a.m. Jan. 25 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Arillia Ann Ching, 78, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 8, 2019, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Wichita County, Texas on June 7, 1940, she was a bookkeeper for Parker Ranch.

Terrence Tohara
Terrence “Terry” Jun Tohara, 69, of Hawi, died Dec. 21, 2018, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala on June 11, 1949, he was a retired special education teacher. He served as a Latter-day Saints missionary at the Northern Indian Mission, a caregiver and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kohala Ward.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 at the LDS Kohala ward in Hawi; funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. A memorial service will also be held noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 26 at Lakeview Chapel, 155 W. 1600 S, Orem, Utah.
