Rogelio Gumarang Martinez, 65, of Keaau, died Dec. 10, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 6, 1954, in Cagayan Valley, Pamplona, Philippines, he was a former field supervisor at West Coast Nurseries and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Jan. 25 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; service at 6 p.m. Friends may call again on Jan. 26 at the chapel; service at 9 a.m. Casual attire and flowers are requested; lei welcome. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m.
He is survived by wife, Cristina Martinez of Pahoa; sons, Roland (Wendy) Martinez and Reejay Martinez of Pahoa; two grandchildren, Dylan Martinez and Criselle Martinez; brother, Antonio Martinez of Philippines; and sisters, Matilde Martinez and Mayie Martinez of Philippines.

Gloria Panglao
Gloria “Aunty Goya” Buyuan Panglao, 79, of Pahala, died Jan. 7, 2019, at home. Born July 1, 1939, in Pahala, she was a retired field foreperson for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Pahala Filipino Community Association.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 26 at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at the church cemetery. The family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by son, Glenn (Lori) Panglao of Pahala; daughters, Glendalyne (Ben) Nivera of Honolulu, Gerry (Ross) Gushiken of Keaau; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Chung-Hoon
Edmund Paul Kaleopaa Chung-Hoon, 89 of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 7, 2018, in Honokaa. Born Jan. 1, 1929, he was a tour guide and driver for Slim Holts and Mackenzie tours and a district operational manager for Hawaii Protective Association and Freeman Guards.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Feb. 2 at Old Kona Airport Park events pavilion for a celebration of life; service at 11 a.m. Military honors at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery at noon Feb. 4.

Jasmine DeJesus (Milare) Henriques, 68 of Hilo, died Dec. 23, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1950, in Hilo.

Kaimi Keller Keohokalole, 45, of Keaau, died Jan. 7, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kailua, Oahu, he was a graphic artist.

He is survived by, father, Joseph Keohokalole Jr. of Keaau; mother, Mary Cahill-Ho of Honolulu; brothers, Michael of Kaneohe, Oahu, and James Keohokalole of Fort Angeles, Washington; sister, Lora Negus of Port Angeles, Washington; nieces and nephews.

Joseph Akiu Sr.
Joseph “Joe” Aloi Akiu Sr., 74, of Waiohinu, died Dec. 29, 2018, at Ka’u Hospital. Born Oct. 6, 1944, in Waiohinu, he was a former electrician, a musician and a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, member and music director for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu and president of the Naalehu OU Senior Center.
Visitation will held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 26 Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu; funeral Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Casual attire requested.
