KAILUA-KONA — There was something for everyone at the Kona Orchid Society’s Annual Show and Sale that kicked off Friday morning.

An array of orchids, along with dragon fruit plants, protea plants and flowers, air plants, heliconias, herbs, fruit trees, succulents and more filled the Old Kona Airport Park Makaeo Pavilion. A nice selection of craft vendors were also present, making it a one-stop shop for a gift for Mother’s Day.

Prize-winning orchids were on display, enticing shoppers to snap a photo with their cell phones. Instructional workshops were conducted for those who may not have the greenest of thumbs.

The event continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
