Amado Narciso

Amado Efren Narciso, 60, of Pahoa died April 30, 2019, at his residence. Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a former baker at Kapiolani Bakery on Oahu, a papaya farmer and member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa.

Friends may call 6-7 p.m. May 30 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may call again 9-10 a.m. May 31 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa; funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Ilyn Narciso of Pahoa; mother, Leticia Narciso of Pahoa; sisters, Jackie (Richard) Agbayani of Honolulu, Josie Narciso Talaro of Pahoa, Gemma (Ron) Rangel of Texas, Susan (Nestor) Duldulao of Pahoa, Brenda (Marc) Deschamps of Pahoa, Leizel Narciso of California, Leila (Hinano) Nomura of Colorado; brother, Rodel (Gemma) Narciso of Pahoa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Marjorie Umuiwi

Marjorie Ann Umuiwi, 76, of Hilo, died May 20, 2019, at her residence. Born in Koloa, Kauai, she was a retired bar manager at the former Nihon Restaurant in Hilo.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. May 30 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; prayer service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

She is survived by son, Clayton Umuiwi of Honolulu; daughter, Marsha (Royden Mahi) Umuiwi of Hilo; brothers, Malcolm (Betty Ann) Barcarse of Honolulu, Stanford (Dency) Barcarse of Hilo, Alex (Debbie) Tejada of Hilo; sister, Leona Fukuyama of Hilo; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosal Alconera

Rosal “Rose” Jamito Requilman Alconera, 82, of Hilo, died May 9, 2019, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Private services held.

She is survived by husband, Martin Dong Alconera of Hilo; sons, Patrick McQuire “Nichu” Ng, Jr., of Oahu and Edward Wagner K.J. (Lana Ishibashi) Ng of Hilo; daughters, Nadine Haunani (Rocky) Ramo of Hilo and Laurie Ann “Pinky” (Brian) Rennick of Oregon; half-brother, Mico (Linda) Villanueva of Oahu; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Myron Blazek

Myron Ray Blazek, 78, of Hilo, died May 16, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Yankton, S.D., he was a graduate of the Yankton Academy of Music. He was employed for several years with Roberts’ Tours of Hawaii as a docent and driver. He also drove a school bus for the DOE where he was awarded the Tomas de Torquemada School Bus Drivers’ Citation for Outstanding Achievement in 1995. He was a lifetime member of the Golden Knights of the Greater Czech Diaspora.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. He is survived by daughter, Sojza (Jeff) Wadkins of Concord, Calif.; two grandchildren; two-great grandchildren.

Colin Souza

Colin D. Souza, 41, of Las Vegas, formerly of Hilo, died March 8, 2019, at his home in Las Vegas. Born Aug. 27, 1977, in Hilo, he was owner and CEO of LV Photo Company and worked at Hard Rock Casino and on the NCL Cruise Ship, New Star and at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.

A celebration of his life will be held 4:30-10 p.m. June 1 at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Casual attire, and no flowers or wreaths. This is a non-alcohol event.

He is survived by parents, Clifford and Shirley Souza of Hilo; brothers, Chad Souza and Chris Souza of Hilo, Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
