Kiyoko Imada

Kiyoko Imada, 91, of Keaau died Jan. 16, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Umauma, she was a retired elementary school teacher at Keaau Elementary School and Mountain View Elementary School and a member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission.

Friends may call 3-4 p.m. Feb. 1 at Puna Hongwanji Mission; memorial service at 4. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Wesley Imada of Orange County, California, Bernie Imada of Keaau; daughters, Pearl (Kent) Iboshi of Honolulu, Jewelle (Jeff) Keiser of Muskego, Wisconsin; brothers, Tamotsu Isa of Santa Barbara, California, Isawo Isa of Honolulu; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gwendollyn Perreira

Gwendollyn Annette Perreira, 74, of Hilo, died Dec. 9, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born March 7, 1945, in Hilo, she was homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Jan. 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; lei welcomed.

She is survived by sons, Andy (Evelyn) Perreira of Aiea, Oahu, Mark (Roxanne) Perreira of Kaneohe, Oahu, Michael (Becky) Perreira of Vail, Arizona, and James (Maria Leonila) Perreira of Mountain View; 15 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne (Tommy) Rezentes and Noreen (Ezekiel) Luiz of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Laguardia Jr.

John E. Laguardia Jr., 89, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 24, 2020. He was born April 6, 1931, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

He is survived by wife, Loretta Laguardia of Kailua-Kona; children, John, Karen, Barbara, Rachell, Mark and Rick; and grandchildren.

Gloria Banister

Gloria Mercado Banister, 72, of Hilo, died Jan. 9, 2020, at her residence. Born Aug. 4, 1947 in the Philippines, she was a homemaker, and attended The House Hilo and a member of Senior Young at Heart Ministry.

Friends may call 10:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo for a service at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by lunch. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park at 2 p.m.

She is survived by husband, William Banister Sr. of Hilo; sons, William Banister Jr. of Oahu, Wilbert Banister of Hilo; daughters, Jane (Rupert) Fox IV of North Carolina, Ruby-Julie (Paul) Eley of Virginia, Christy (Samuel) Bongo the III of Oahu; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Lucia Lucas-Padilla

Lucia June K. Lucas-Padilla, 72, of Kalopa, died Dec. 16, 2019, at home. Born in Haina, she was a retired employee of Paauilo Elementary and Intermediate School, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and former member of Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko.

Friends may call 7:30-10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa; Mass at 10. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Dennis Padilla of Kalopa; daughter, Derice Padilla of Kalopa; son, Denson (Partner, Gloria Nirei) Padilla of Kalopa; hanai granddaughter, Elizabeth Leuck of Arizona; sisters, Jean (John) Rushforth of California, Rose Marie (Gordon) Kainoa of Idaho and Leilani (Kevin) McGough of Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces and nephews.

June Wong Yuen

June Haunani Wong Yuen, 65, of Hilo, died Jan. 19, 2020, at home. Born June 11, 1954, in Pahala, she was a retired cashier and meat wrapper for KTA Super Stores, Puainako, Hilo and a member of Kauahaao Congregational Church in Waiohinu.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 8 at Carlsmith Beach Park in Keaukaha for a celebration of life; scattering of ashes to follow. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, Hana (Tyson) Agliam of Hilo; son, Oswin Daimaru of Hilo; brothers, Walter (Debbie) Wong Yuen of Pahala and Haddon (Donna) Wong Yuen of Hilo; sister, Dale (Arnold) Anderson of Pahala; three grandchildren.
