The state Department of Health reported only one new COVID-19 case as of noon Monday, bringing the statewide total to 607 cases.
DOH also reports the 16th death associated with the coronavirus in the state, an Oahu woman older than 65. She reportedly had underlying health conditions and had been hospitalized since early April.
The department is investigating whether the mode of infection was travel-related or community-associated.
The 15th case, an elderly Oahu man with underlying health conditions and no recent travel history, was reported earlier Monday.
The newest reported positive case of COVID-19 was in Maui County, which has the second-highest total, 113 cases. The case is an employee at Maui Memorial Medical Center and the source of infection is unknown and under investigation.
The other counties remain the same, with 396 cases in the City and County of Honolulu, 70 in Hawaii County, and 21 in Kauai County. Kauai has the most stringent lockdown rules and has remained at 21 cases for the past two weeks.
In all, 68 cases statewide have required hospitalization and 493 individuals who have contracted the coronavirus have been released from isolation, according to DOH. Forty-nine of the cases released were from Hawaii Island.
