Porter Watson III

Porter Hartley Watson, III, 75, of Kailua-Kona, died April 20, 2020, at a private care home. Born Feb. 18, 1945 in San Antonio, TX, he was a renown underwater videographer and a US Army veteran.

Celebration of life and ash scattering information to be announced at a later date.

He is survived by mother, Billy Watson; brother, Wayne (Maureen) Watson all of San Antonio, TX; hanai family, Jorge Martinez Mirando, Blanca Martinez Mirando, Constanza Martinez Mirando all of Coquimbo, Chile; hanai daughter Ursula Santos Perez of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Kenneth Horio

Kenneth K. Horio, 81, died April 18, 2020, at his home in Los Alamitos, CA. Born and raised in Hilo, he was a member of the Hilo High Esquires, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, a Vietnam veteran, and a retired engineer for the Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no service at this time; a service may be planned in Hilo at a later date. No Koden (monetary offerings), please.

He is survived by wife, Jeannette Horio of Los Alamitos, CA; daughters, Debbie (Dan) Denehy of Los Alamitos, CA and Darnell (Ed) DeMasters of Fairfax, VA; son, Darren Horio of Hilo; sister, Amy (Kenneth) Tanaka of Hilo; four granddaughters.

Tobi Laeb

Tobi Laeb, 52, of Kailua-Kona, died April 7, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Mili, Marshall Islands on June 1, 1967, he was an equipment operator for the county water department and a member of the Kona Marshallese Church.

Services will be held.

He is survived by his wife, Atna Laeb; son, Isaiah Laeb, both of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Ruth (Wilton) Note of Seattle, WA; brother, Percy Laeb of Marshall Islands; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
