Twenty people were cited and 11 arrested last week on the Big Island for violating Gov. David Ige of a stay-at-home order.
None of the arrests or citations involved visitors violating the 14-day travel self-quarantine, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
In West Hawaii, Kona reported four arrests and 10 citations between April 29 and Tuesday while South Kohala saw one arrest and two citations, according to the department. In Ka‘u, two persons were arrested.
In East Hawaii, South Hilo saw four arrests and three citations. Five people were cited in Hamakua.
Violation of the stay-at-home order is a misdemeanor offense that carries up to a year in jail and a fine of no more than $5,000. Since the start of the stay-at-home order at 12:01 a.m. March 25, Hawaii Police Department officers have arrested 83 and issued 206 citations.
The stay-at-home order remains in effect through 11:59 p.m. May 31.
