Bisgard and Nakamura receive FOLK scholarship

Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.) has awarded $6,000 in scholarships to two individuals to pursue master’s degrees in library and information science. The recipients are Stacy Bisgard and Stephanie Nakamura.

Bisgard is a resident of Kona and is employed as a library assistant II at the Kealakekua Public Library. She is pursuing her studies for a master’s degree in library and information science at San Jose State University distance learning program.

Nakamura is a resident of Kaneohe, Oahu, and a library assistant at Hawaii Baptist Academy. She is pursuing her master’s in library and information science at the distance learning program at Rutgers University School of Communication and Information.

An affiliate of Friends of the Library of Hawaii, Friends of the Libraries, Kona has been enhancing the services and facilities of Kona public libraries and enriching the lives of Kona residents since 1988.
