Jimmie Lee Boyd, 85, of Pepeekeo, died July 13, 2020, at his residence. Born in Farmington, Missouri, he was a retired brick mason, former member of the Farmington, Missouri Elks Lodge, former member of the Akaka Falls Lions Club and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by daughter, Jamie (Dan) Brinkman of Pepeekeo; son, Brian (Tena) Boyd of Missouri; brother, Robert Boyd of Missouri; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Robert Embernate Sr.
Robert Allen Embernate Sr., 81, of Honokaa, died July 14, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 8, 1939, in Kalopa, he was a retired Hamakua Sugar Co. mill supervisor, former Honokaa High School football coach, founder of JR’S Fast Pitch and Hamakua Coast Senior Softball Team, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honokaa Ward.

He is survived by companion, Juliette Andrade of Kalopa; daughters, Penny (Dennison DeRego) Embernate of Ookala and Annie Andrade of Kalopa; sons, Ryerson (Melissa) Andrade and Guy (Maile) Andrade of Hilo, Byron (Kawai) Andrade of Oahu; sister, Linda Lou (Robert Kazu) Takamine of Honokaa; brothers, Franklin (Leilani) Embernate of Kailua-Kona and Rudy Embernate of Waikoloa; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Ofa Pauta
Ofa Kivavau Pauta, 74, of Hilo, died June 29, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 26, 1946, in Tonga, he was a self-employed landscaper and restired as a reverand from the Free Church of Tonga.

He is survived by wife, Paea Pauta of Hilo; son Ofa Kivavau Jr. of Hilo; daughters, Mele Pauta of California, Ane Pauta of Hilo, Akolea Pauta of Alaska, Gaftynn Pauta of Alaska; four grandchildren; 13 siblings; nieces and nephews.

Ernest Alan Texeira, 66, of Honokaa, died July 7, 2020. Born in Honolulu, he was a PGA Professional and a retired golf professional for the Waikoloa Land Co. and a member of the Aloha Section PGA.

Lu Kahunani Prudencio, 61, of Hilo, died July 14, 2020 at Life Care Center. Born in May 1959 in Pepeekeo 1959, she was a factory worker at Big Island Candies.

Sumiko Ishizu, 82, of Hilo, died July 6, 2020 at her residence. Born Jan. 5, 1938, in Tokyo, she was a retired kitchen helper and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Buddhist Women’s Association (Fujinkai).

Satoshi Ota, 83, of Hilo, died April 7, 2020 at home. Born Aug. 14, 1936, in Hilo, he was a retired independent sugarcane planter, landscaper and member of the Piihonua Kumiai.
