Paul Keohuloa

Paul Keohuloa, 83, of Naalehu, died March 13, 2020 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born Nov. 28, 1936, in Hookena, he was a retired rancher who worked for McCandless Ranch in South Kona and Daleico Ranch in Ka‘u.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 28 Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Casual attire. Flowers and lei are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Dolores Dela Cruz Keohuloa of Naalehu; godchildren, Paul (Lei) Kaholoaa of Hilo and Chris Himan Jr. and Althea Himan of Pahoa; sisters, Harriet Wenthworth of Seattle and Maria Haimoto of Hilo; brothers, George Kamaka of Hilo and Philip Keohaloa of Kona; sisters, Jane Mock of Kansas, Mary Ann Dela Cruz and Pat Yamamoto of Hilo, and Sally Dela Cruz of Naalehu.

Fusaye Arakawa

Fusaye “Janet” Yamamoto Arakawa, 97, of Pahoa, died July 18, 2020 in Hilo. Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Pahoa, she was a retired office clerk from the former Hashimoto Nursery and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association, Higashi Machi Kumiai and Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai.

Private services will be held at a date. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Claire Arakawa of Pahoa, Cindy (John Cole) Arakawa of Seattle; grandson, Alec (Betsy Waring) Cole of New York; great-granddaughter, Layla Cole; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosaline Tagaca

Rosaline Jane “Linda” (Badua) Tagaca, 77, of Kapaau, died April 1, 2020, at Infinity Hospice Care in Las Vegas. Born June 1,1944 in North Kohala, she was a retired hotel assistant manager for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Hawi.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by daughters, Jerriline (Tim Caravalho) Tagaca of Kawaihae and Shawna (Amsi) Ornelas of Las Vegas; son, Dayton (Tracy) Tagaca of Waimea; sister, Shirley Pacatang of Kohala; brothers, Ben (Dorothy) Badua of Kukuihaele, Alfred (Aina) Badua of Kaneohe, Oahu, Douglas (Carmela) Badua of Kohala, Jerry (Julia) Badua of Hilo and Kenneth (Darlene) Badua of Kohala; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara Jackson

Barbara Jean Jackson, 77, of Keaau, died July 7, 2020, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Private services.

Survived by companion, James Jackson of Keaau; sons, Frank Torres of Wailuku, Maui, Michael Torres of Texas, and Benjamin (Laina) Torres of Hilo; daughter, Xan Torres of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Isabella Flores, Betty Torres and Josephine (Howard) Nash, all of Hilo; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Denise Ferreira

Denise Pilialoha Ferreira, 60, of Hilo, died June 4, 2020 at home. Born July 2, 1959, in Hilo, she was a retired bartender and caregiver.
