Ruby Cabison

Ruby Theresa Cabison, 80, died July 26, 2020, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Poro Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired Wackenhut Airport Security guard at the Hilo International Airport and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and the Red Hat Society.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Sept. 3 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call for a 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sept. 4 St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family requests aloha attire be worn and any monetary contributions be made to Glenn Cabison, PO Box 6979, Hilo, HI 96720. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery.

She is survived by companion, Augustus Camacho of Hilo; daughters, Desiree (Benjamin) Oili and Roxanne Curry of Hilo; hanai daughter, Valerie Afaga of Honolulu; sons, Derek (Laurie) Cabison of Waimea, Santos (Deirdre) Cabison Jr., Vic (Yvette) Cabison and Glenn (Roxy) Cabison of Hilo; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Cosmedien Quiocho Sr. of Hilo; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tantalayo Saenz

Tantalayo Saenz, 65, of Paauilo, died Aug. 9, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 20, 1955, in East Los Angeles, she was a healer and substance abuse counselor, amazing artist/singer and member of the Sundance Community and Native American Church.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by sons, Eagle Tobin and Sage Lutman of Waipio Valley.

Karl Lopez

Karl Lee Lopez, 61, of Hilo, died Aug. 6, 2020, at his residence. Born in Kansas City, KS., he was a former security guard, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and U.S. Navy veteran.

Private services held.

He is survived by sons, Quillan Lopez of Hilo and Eziekiel (Aree) Lopez of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Francesca (Patrick) Lopez-Aurello of Hilo; mother, Delores Lopez of Kansas; brother, Steve Lopez of Kansas; sister, Carol Lopez of Kansas; five grandchildren.

Mary Farrell

Mary G. Farrell, 95, of Hawi, died Aug. 17, 2020, at her residence. Born Feb. 12, 1925, in Rochester, NY., she was a retired school psychologist for the Newport Mesa School District, longtime member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Newport Beach, CA. and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi.

Private services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI 96743.

She is survived by son, Mike Remsen; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
