Adolph Gafkowski Jr.

Adolph “Al” N. Gafkowski Jr., 78, of Hilo, died Sept. 26, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Chicago, he worked many years at IBM and The Computer Store in Hilo and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.

No services.

He is survived by wife, Paige Gafkowski; brother, James Gafkowski; numerous cousins.

Jeffrey Choi

Jeffrey Choi, 79, of Hilo, died Sept. 28, 2020 at his residence. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, he was a retired attorney and District Court judge.

No services. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers. Donations may be made to Hawaii Care Choices, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen Choi; son, Rodney (Kris) Choi; daughter, Beth (Dan) Hebert; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donna Smith

Donna Bea Smith, 90, of North Kohala, died Sept. 17, 2020, at her residence. Born June 17, 1930 in Burley, Idaho, she was a homemaker and member of The Tennis Club at Mauna Lani, and Mauna Kea Seaside Tennis Club.

Private service to be held at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Gerald Smith of North Kohala; daughter, Linda Lum of Texas; sons, Mark Smith of Paradise Park and Stephen Smith of Wailuku; brother, Ward Naylor of California; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters.
