Sugi Sugai

Sugi Sugai, 100, of Papaikou died Oct. 23, 2020, at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Keauhou, North Kona, she was a homemaker and a member of the Taishoji Soto Mission.

Private services held.

She is survived by sons, Albert Sugai of Papaikou, and Paul (Patty) Sugai of Honolulu; daughters, Janet (Wesley) Wakimoto and Amy (Duane) Yugawa, all of Hilo; sister, Michiko Enomoto of Kona; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen Inaba-Franco

Eileen Hatsuyo Inaba-Franco, 71, of Hilo, died Aug. 15, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired State of Hawaii Department of Education substitute teacher.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4 p.m. service. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Sean Franco of Kailua-Kona and Spencer Franco of Hilo; brothers, Alan Inaba, Gordon (Ann) Inaba, Melvin Inaba and Jason (Audrey) Inaba, all of Hilo; sister, Barbara (Tom Prlain) Inaba of San Francisco; numerous aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews.
