New mayor, prosecutor and council to be inaugurated Monday

Hawaii County will hold a virtual inauguration ceremony for newly and re-elected county officials on Monday.

During the noon event, oaths of office will be administered to Mayor-elect Mitch D. Roth, Prosecutor-elect Kelden B.A. Waltjen, and County Council members Aaron S.Y. Chung (District 2), David Maile (District 6), Holeka Inaba (District 8), Matt Kanealii-Kleinfelder (District 5), Ashley L. Kierkiewicz (District IV), Heather L. Kimball (District 1), Sue Lee Loy (District III), Tim Richards (District 9) and Rebecca Villegas (District 7).

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, only elected officials, program participants, and essential staff will be present, Hawaii County Clerk Jon Henricks said.

It will be presented via livestream at www.hawaiicounty.gov/2020inauguration and telecast on Na Leo TV, channel 55.
