Joyce Takiue

Joyce Sumiko Takiue, 76, of Hilo, died April 24, 2021, at her residence. Born in Ka’u, she was retired from the Social Security Administration.

Private services held.

She is survived by daughter, Traci (Aaron) Kanaeholo of Hilo; sons, Darren Takiue and Lesley Takiue of Honolulu; brother, Stanley (Harriet) Nakasone of Hilo; sister, Caroline (Yeiko) Arakaki of Hilo; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George Dunn

George “Bill” William Dunn, 74, of Hilo died April 24, 2021, at a private care home in Naalehu. Born in Philadelphia, he was an entrepreneur and co-owner of Pareo Island.

Services will be held at a later date on Molokai.

He is survived by sister, Sylvia (John) Sena of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Susan Torres

Susan “Sue” Lei Torres, 73, of Keaau, died May 1, 2021, at her residence. Born July 1, 1947, in Honolulu, she was a retired social worker for YWCA Family Support Services and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools – Kapalama Campus.

She is survived by, daughters, Ka’iulani (Sean) Lucas and Anela (Reid) Ikeda; brother, James McKeague; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Andrew Rocha

Andrew Simon Rocha, 86, Waipahu, Oahu, died Feb. 24, 2021, in Waipahu. Born Jan. 5, 1935, in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 625 Hawaii, and International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Private burial with military honors to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by sons, Edward (Frances) Rocha of Kurtistown and Dennis (Rima) Rocha of Keaau; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Rocha of Mountain View; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loretta Rocha

Loretta Filipa Rocha, 80, of Waipahu, Oahu, died May 1, 2021, at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born May 10, 1940, in Honolulu, she was a retired ward clerk at St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Private burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by sons, Edward (Frances) Rocha of Kurtistown and Dennis (Rima) Rocha of Keaau; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Apiag of Las Vegas, and Gary Apiag of Norfolk, VA; sister, Charlotte Apiag of Fremont, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
