Harumi Kawamoto

Harumi Kawamoto, 95, of Waimea, died April 28, 2021, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Ben Franklin Store in Waimea and a member of the Paauilo Konkoji Mission and Paauilo Hongwanji Mission.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).

She is survived by son, Curtis Kawamoto of Waimea; daughter, Iris (Guylon) Okada of Hilo; brothers, Thomas Shindo of Hilo, Wallace (Betty) Shindo of California; three grandsons; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Heribert Pfecht

Heribert Pfecht, 75, of Honokaa and formerly of Kapaau, died May 4, 2021, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua.

No known survivors.

Roy Skogstrom

Roy Karl Skogstrom, 65, of Pepeekeo, died May 4, 2021, at his residence. Born in Manhasset, New York, he was the owner of Kahua Exotic Tropical Fruits Farm in Pepeekeo, a physical therapist, and CEO of Oncologic.

Services will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Roy Karl Skogstrom may be sent to the Hawaii Island Humane Society.

He is survived by wife, Catherine Marquette of Pepeekeo; sister, Susan (Don) Outland of Ewa Beach, Oahu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith Hara

Edith Yuriko Hara, 76, of Hilo, died May 4, 2021, at her residence. Born Aug. 31, 1944, in Hilo, she was a homemaker.
