Kahilu Theatre presents the Waimea Community Chorus Tribute to Elton John this Sunday.

The 4 p.m. performance by the community chorus will celebrate the musical career of Sir Elton John with a choral tribute to his incredible work. The show will open with his 1970 hit “Your Song” which is in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and close with his 2019 Academy Award Winning song “I’m Gonna Love Me Again.”

With 50 years of hit songs to choose from, and a touch of dramatic flair, Musical Director Barbara Kopra has selected a wide range of popular tunes that the audience will want to sing along with. The show will be a chronological approach to sharing his music, with the first half including numbers like “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Candle in the Wind,” and “I’m Still Standing.” The second half features the musical theaterjourney of Elton John including songs from Lion King, Aida and Billy Elliot.

Tickets for the virtual show, which are good for an entire household, are $9.99 and available at Kahilu.TV. Monthly and annual subscriptions are also available for Kahilu.TV. Canʻt watch it live? Catch it on-demand the next day, the next week, or the next month.
