Allen Filoteo
Allen “Bradda Al” Boyd Filoteo, 70, of Hilo, died May 12, 2021. at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 16, 1950, in Honolulu, he was the resident manager for Riverside Apartments, former supervisor for Excelsior Dairy, former bouncer at Uncle Mikeys Nightclub, a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, baseball coach for the Keaukaha Big League and a member of the Hilo Boxing Club and ILWU Local 142.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 6 at Dodo Mortuary upper carport for a drive-through visitation. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.
He is survived by wife, Raynette Filoteo; daughter, Dana (John Pukini) Filoteo; sons, Kalai (Cheyenne Young) Filoteo and Keone (Amanda) DeSilva; brothers, Adan (Debra) Rodrigues and Kamanawa Grube Filoteo; sisters, Verda Arriaga, Lila Filoteo, Ulu (Lucas Julian) Filoteo, Donna Rosas, Brenda (Kufa) Filo and Gloria Dezsy; an aunt; uncles; six grandsons; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carl Richards Sr.
Carl Richards Sr., 62, of Mountain View, died May 20, 2021, in Pahoa. Born Feb. 5, 1959, in Hilo, he was a handyman and fence installer.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Ellen Richards; daughters, Shannon (Mathew) Ahn, Maria Caay, Mohala Mahi, Summer (Brandon Shaver) Richards, and Cara Richards; sons, Carl (Jaslynn) Richards Jr., Herman Richards, Kalani (Jonelyn) Richards, Kamaka Brown-Mahi, and Palasi Brown Jr.; sister, Donna (Patrick Epstein) Richards; brothers, Rufino DeVillanueva and Garin (Cheryl) Richards; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Antoku Kobashigawa
Antoku “Tony” Kobashigawa, 93, of Hakalau, died May 3, 2021, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hakalau, he was a retired shift superintendent for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., member of Hakalau Jodo Mission, Honomu Henjoji Mission, Wailea Kumiai, Hui Okinawa, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a recipient of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers or koden (memorial gifts).
He is survived by wife, Kinue Kobashigawa of Hakalau; sons, Eric (Irina Milman) Kobashigawa of Lynnwood, Washington, and Gary (Rachel) Kobashigawa of Hilo; sister, Hatsue Akamine of Hilo; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces &nephews.

Darryn Yamamoto
Darryn Haruto Yamamoto, 67, of Hilo, died Oct. 7, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was retired from Hawaii County Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance Division, also worked for HPM Building Supply and was member of United Public Workers Retirees.

He is survived by wife, Debra (Toriano) Yamamoto of Hilo; daughter, Dana (Daniel) Kuramoto of Hilo; son, Dustin (Kacy) Yamamoto of Honolulu; brothers, Iran Yamamoto and Dan Yamamoto of Hilo; sister, Verna (Randy) Yamabe of Kona; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Suzanna Tavares
Suzanna “Suzan” Lottie Kahealani Green Tavares, 55, of Kailua-Kona, died May 17, 2021, at her residence. Born Feb. 4, 1966, in Honolulu, she was the owner of Viking Services of Hawaii, former insurance agent for Aloha Insurance and a former rental agent for Budget Car Rentals.

She is survived by son, Bronson (Tabitha) Tavares of Aurora, Colorado; sisters, Wattie Green and Kalua Grace, both of Kailua-Kona; brother, Herbert Alapai Jr. of Seattle; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
