Antone Moiha

Antone Kanui Moiha, 83, of Hawi, died Sept. 25, 2021 at his residence. Born July 29, 1938, in Hana, Maui, he was a ditch tender for the Kohala Ditch Cooperative (Agricultural Water Services) in North Kohala, and member of the Gospel of Salvation Church in Kohala.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 23 at Gospel of Salvation Church in Kohala for an 11 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Lyanne Ako Moiha of Hawi; daughters, Antonette (John) Ganir of Pahoa, and Lydia Moiha and Leoni Moiha of Kohala; sister, Priscilla (Albert) Matsuoka of Waimea; 15 grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gregory Dilworth

Gregory “Greg” Lee Dilworth, 74, of Waimea, died Oct. 17, 2021, at his residence. Born April 26, 1947 in Altadena, California, he was a retired microbiologist for the Office of Science at the U.S. Department of Energy.

He is survived by wife, Machi Dilworth of Waimea; son, Andrew (Caroline) Dilworth; daughter, Maya (Michael) Cairns; four grandchildren all of North Carolina.

Angela Hartfield

Angela “Angie” Jude Hartfield, 59, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 5, 2021, at her residence. Born November 21, 1961 in Bangor, Maine, she was an author, a spiritual counselor and a former teacher at Kealakehe High School.

Private services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.

She is survived by husband, Duke Hartfield of Kailua-Kona; children, Devin (David) Hart, Kriss Thompson all of California, Allyn (Saurab Kumar) Thompson of Kailua-Kona, Stefani Thompson of Florida, Christopher (Stephanie) Hartfield and Marie (Jake) Booth; mother, Florence Petrofes; siblings, Michael Petrofes, Jeanne (Tracy) Lubbering all of New Mexico, Pete Petrofes of Louisiana, Steve (Karrie) Petrofes of Texas, and Mary (Brendan Mahoney) Petrofes of Rhode Island; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn Shiraishi

Glenn Kiyoshi Shiraishi, 70, of Keaau, died Sept. 10, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 22, 1951, he worked for HPM(CMR) in Keaau as a warehouse specialist.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Oct. 23 at New Hope Puna, 15-3084 Government Main Road, Pahoa, for an 11 a.m. service.

He is survived by son, Cody Shiraishi; wife, Roxanne Nagasako; brother, Alan (Gail) Shiraishi; sisters, Stella (Jerry) Itamura and Joanne Arita; and nieces and nephews.

Michael Letson

Michael Kenneth Letson, 74 of Hilo, died Sept. 23, 2021, at Life Care Center in Hilo. He was a retired mortician.

Private service held.

He is survived by wife, Bessie Letson; sisters, Kay Scarlett and Martha Wade; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins.

Walter Thompson

Walter Vernon Thompson, 76, of Kapaau, died Sept. 20, 2021 at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 8, 1945, in Norman, Oklahoma, he was a carpenter helper for a construction company.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by son, James Thompson of Dripping Springs, Texas; brothers, James (Gloria) Thompson of Albuquerque, and William Thompson of Missouri; half-brother, Sam Thompson of Indiana; half-sister, Ada Thompson of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
