LOS ANGELES – Hawaii took down North Greenville in straight sets 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 Tuesday to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA men’s volleyball championship.
The ‘Bows were led by junior setter Jakob Thelle, who notched four aces – breaking the school’s single-season record – and recorded 26 assists, and sophomore outside hitter Spyros Chakas, who fired 12 kills. Sophomore middle blocker Guilherme Voss also had six blocks.
The Crusaders struggled mightily against Hawaii’s defense, recording a combined attack percentage of .062 compared to Hawaii’s .429.
The ‘Bows will play Ball State in the semifinals on Thursday. Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
