William Ferguson

William Vincent “Will” Ferguson, Jr., 71, of Keaau, died on Feb. 9 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Auburn, Mass. In 1998, Will established Will’s Plumbing and Heating serving East Hawaii. He had a pilot’s license, was a certified scuba diver and certification as a paralegal. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Wed. March 22 at the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Casual attire; in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his name . He is survived by brothers, Gerald F. Ferguson, Kevin W. Ferguson, Brian M. Ferguson, and Timothy J. Ferguson; sisters, Patrica A. Sprunger and Jayne F. David Henriques

David William Henriques Sr., 68 died on Feb.9. He was born at Kona hospital in Kealakekua, HI. He was a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by partner Kahaulani Freitas, children Chatzi, DJ, and Umi Henriques of Kealekekua, HI. Services will be held on May 6, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. at Yano Hall in Captain Cook.

Margaret Kamanu

Margaret Rose Ku’upuakakahiaka Kamanu, 83, of Mountain View, died Feb. 14 at home. She was born in Honolulu and was a co-owner/office manager of Jimmy’s Automotive Service. She was also a member of the Kalapana Maunakea Church and Hale o Na Ali’I of Kalakaua. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sat. March 25 at the Kalapana Maunakea Church in Nanawale Estates, Pahoa. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual/aloha attire; flowers and lei welcome. She is survived by husband, James Kamanu of Mountain View; daughters, Loke Kamanu of Mountain View, Linda Kaye Kuuipo (Joshua) Spencer of Waimanalo and Michelle Wahinekaupua (Howard) Hinds of Waimea; sisters, Leinaala Lopes of Maunalaha, Elaine Auala, Kapua Braine and Laverne (Bernard) Abaya of Waimanalo; brothers, Andrew (Susan) Glushenko of Waimanalo and Ronald (Marianne) Glushenko of Waianae; hanai son, Freddie Winkle of Kona; hanai daughters, Annie (Lance) Brooks of Virginia and Roxanne (Arcinio) Racpan of Mountain View; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Kyle Tomita

Kyle Yoshio Tomita, 34, of Hilo, died Feb. 14, 2023, in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he worked for Island Cold Storage and Hilo Orchid Farm and was a member of the Rikickulous Kickball Team. Friends may call at 2 p.m. March 26, 2023 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. Celebration of Life. Family requests casual attire be worn. Rhonda Brown

Rhonda Marie Brown, 69, of Hilo, died Feb. 16, 2023, at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, she was a retired child care provider. Wallace Ishibashi, Jr.

Wallace Aeae “Wally” Ishibashi, Jr., 66, of Kalaoa, died Feb. 16 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo and was the Senior Advisor at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Office of Maunakea Management, former Hawaii Island Division Director and Business Agent with the ILWU Local 142, a factory mechanic and truck driver at the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday March 25 at the Hilo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire, no flowers; leis welcomed.He is survived by son, Wally (Dini La’a) Ishibashi, III of Pepeekeo; daughter, Victoria Poli’ahu (Leebert) Naboa of Pauka’a; mother, Patricia Puahala Delaries of Hilo; sister, Wendy (Kenneth, Sr.) Urbanozo of Ookala; half-brother, Anthony (Rosie Morante) Delaries of Hawaiian Paradise Park; half-sister, Melanie (Mosese Kauvaka) Molinero of Hilo seven grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Kevin Kitamura

Kevin Koichi Kitamura of Hilo passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023 at the age of 58. He worked as a Draftsman at the architectural firm of Ronald H. Nagata, AIA, Inc. Donald Abe

Donald “Cuba” Yoshito Abe, 88, of Pepeekeo, passed away at home on Feb. 17, 2023. He was born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii on July 22, 1934. He worked for many years for the Hawaii County Economic Council and retired as a pre-audit clerk. He was a member and also the treasurer of the Honomu Hongwanji mission. Also the former Coach of the Honomu Rockets senior softball team. He was also a U.S Army Veteran. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday (Mar. 24, 2023) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Memorial Service at 10 a.m. Casual Attire requested. Maria Kaneki

Maria Kaneki, 69, of Hilo, died Feb. 20, 2023, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Lukunor Island, Chuuk, Micronesia, she was retired from the Arc of Hilo and was a former volunteer and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. An all-night vigil will be held from 10 a.m. March 30, 2023 at the family residence in Hawaiian Paradise Park, Keaau, 15-1670 14th Avenue. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. March 31, 2023 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park Ilima Section. She is survived by husband, Solan Kaneki; children, Antonia (Ander Samo) Likiche, Regina (Elvis Robert) Kaneki, Maryann (Makario Olap) Kaneki, Manuel (Joanna Defang) Likiche, Jefferson (Atelait Esechu) Kaneki, Seferin Tilipau, Leeann (Dustin) Lincoln, Kimberly (Kimpy) Nethon; brothers, Bart (Erlyn Olap) Mwarey, Leo (Mariena) Tillipau, Kerman Dilipau, James (Eta Sardis) Avey, Gonzaka (Toni) Sorcy; sisters, Teresita Farek, Marieta (Anther Nennis) Tilipau, Ailin (Corwin Kobashigawa) Tilipau, Merlin Dilipou, Maryann (Louis Cummings) Dillipou; numerous grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Duane Spegar

Duane “Mousie” Kalehuanani Spegar, 64, of Keaau died Mar. 3 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the Territorial Manager for Pape Machinery and American Machinery, formerly employed at Pizza Hut, Magoo’s Auto Parts, Car Quest, Western Auto and a member of NNC Motorcycle Club. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Survived by wife, Donna Kelau-Spegar of Keaau; sons, Kalei (Cherish) Spegar of Keaau, Bronson (Laura) Kelau of Keaau; brothers, Thomas Spegar, Jr. of Korea, Keone (Jolene) Papaia of Oahu, Kupono (Cheryl) Papaia of Oahu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Nora Murashima

Nora Teruko Murashima, 93, of Kailua-Kona died March 4, 2023 at her residence. Born in South Kona, Hawaii on November 16, 1929, she was a produce clerk at KTA Kailua-Kona store and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Private services will be held. Grace Ewing

Grace Mary Berkley Ewing, 71, of Hilo, passed away on March 5, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 16, 1951 in Nevada, she was a retired teacher for the Hawaii Department of Education. She is survived by son, Bryce (Mahina) Ewing; daughter, Dori (Josh) Hansbury; brother, John (Becky) Berkley, Mel (Patty) Berkley; and four grandchildren. Private Services held. Carl Manliguis

Carl Keoni Manliguis, 53, of Hilo, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center, he born on January 8, 1970, in Hilo; he was employed at Oshiro Tofu in Hilo and a former Probation Officer in the State of California. Kainoa Hinano Kahele-Bishop, 32, of Milolii, died March 10 died at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kealakekua-Kona and was a landscaper. Jaime Abregana, Jr

Jaime “Boy” Abregana, Jr., 58, of Ewa Beach, passed away on March 16, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, born on March 26, 1963, in Hilo; He was CEO of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Hilo Women’s Club from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
