Hilo High and Honoka‘a High’s boys and girls soccer teams clashed Tuesday at the UH-Hilo soccer field.

Both Vikings teams posted big shutouts, with the girls winning 9-0 and the boys winning 5-0.

The Hilo teams are now both 2-0 in BIIF play, and will be back at it on Saturday afternoon at Hawaii Preparatory Academy — girls kick off at 2 p.m. and boys at 4 p.m.

Honoka‘a’s teams are now each 0-1. The boys will play their home opener 3 p.m. Saturday against Parker School (0-2). On Tuesday (Dec. 12) both Dragons squads will head back down the coast to face Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i (0-0 boys, 1-0 girls).

The Kea‘au versus Konawaena soccer game scheduled for Tuesday was postponed, new date TBA.
