Yoga Basics with Janet Lam will meet from 8—9 a.m. Sept. 18 and 25. Start the week feeling balanced, flexible and strong. This class includes fundamental yoga poses, and although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.

Cancer Support Group for Women will gather from 12:30—2 p.m. Sept. 20. Whether a survivor, currently in treatment, recently diagnosed, or coping with the effects of cancer on a loved one, all are invited to join this group to discover the power of healing through a connection with others who share a common bond.

Essentially Well ~ EO Health Benefits &DIY Applications will meet from 3-4:40 p.m. Sept 20 with Kimberley Bennett. Bye bye summer, hello winter. Attend this class to learn how to formulate and create a protective, healing balm to support the health of your skin through unpredictable weather conditions. Experience the synergy between natural carrier oils and essential oils that assist in skin repair, regeneration and protection. The DIY project for this class welcomes all levels, ages and newcomers. Bring a small, wide mouth glass jar or container that can withstand high temperatures.

Family Support Group is scheduled from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 20, facilitated by Community Children’s Council. Parents and caregivers of especially challenging children support each other by sharing their successes and challenges. Facilitators provide information on community, state and national resources, and guidance on how best to navigate the systems of care for better outcomes for the child and family.

Aloha Kidney • Kidney Disease Education will meet weekly from 1-3:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 21 and continuing through Oct. 26, with Ramona Wong MD, a retired nephrologist, kidney specialist. Hawaii has a high rate of chronic kidney disease (CKD), most of which is preventable. This web format series is provided for those interested in, at risk for, or living with CKD. Often choices are made that unknowingly nudge patients towards chronic disease. Once the impact of choices made on mind, spirit and body are understood, it’s possible to live mindfully ever after.
