Zen Meditation Class at Daifukuji
Daifukuji Soto Mission will offer a free Zen Meditation class on Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The topics will include correct posture on a cushion, bench, or chair and etiquette in a meditation hall. There will be special emphasis on what to do with your mind during meditation. The predominate form of meditation in Soto Zen is shikantaza—-just sitting. It is simple but difficult, because there is nothing to rely on except your own willpower. The class will end with a meditation session, and there will be time for questions.
