KAILUA-KONA — Strong trade winds this week will continue to produce rough, choppy surf along east-facing shores of the Big Island, forecasters with the Honolulu-based National Weather Service said Monday morning.

A high surf advisory will remain posted until 6 a.m. Thursday for east-facing shores of the Big Island’s northern, southern and eastern coasts, according to the service. Wave heights of 5 to 8 feet are forecast Monday with surf increasing to 6 to 10 feet on Tuesday.
